Whenever possible, following initial consultation, we will match needs with fee-based solutions. The primary resource in institutional conflict is our full-time consultant, Steve Staten.
TRANSFORMING CONFLICT IN CONGREGATIONAL SETTINGS
We have developed a method for transforming specific conflicts in congregational settings.
Customizable 2015 Workshops Include:
- Transforming Conflict: Greater Outcomes in Times of Trouble
- Peacemakers, Bridge Builders, and Healers: Mediation Training for Leaders and Peers.
This is a consultation service that lasts between two to eight weeks, depending on the size of the organization, designed to produce a portrait and transformative measures. Discovery and assessment through interviews and surveys as well as gathering of all forms of documentation, which will be compiled into a threefold report—Prologue, Assessment and Transformative Measures. The organization opts for this approach when they are stuck or see difficult upcoming hurdles but are not in serious conflicts. Best used with workshops.
In the event that an organization or congregation and/or its leadership is embroiled in conflict and has exhausted its local and regional resources an intensive approach might be warranted. Recovery is made much more possible by the Transformative Congregational Conflict method, which begins with saturating the organization or church in competence teaching and training that coincides with an on-the-ground audit, comprised by discovery, assessment, alignment and accountability. A TCC endeavor involves interviews, surveys, historical documents and unrestricted access to the board, leadership structure and members. This process reveals the origins of the organization’s culturally imbedded impediments to growth and how relationships have been affected. The TOC culminates in mediation of relationships, the moderation of issues, and the possible proposal of realignment of roles along with follow up measures.
